Biography

Mikhail Benedictov was born in 1971 in Leningrad, USSR. In 1985-1989 he was studying at the Saint Petersburg Mussorgsky Musical College with prof. E.Volpe. In 1992 Mikhail went on studying at the Saint Petersburg Rimsky-Korsakov State Conservatory, and then, in 1997-1999 he completed the graduate school under prof. E.Bazanov.

Mikhail is a winner of numerous international competitions. From 2002 to 2008 he was Guest Soloist of the Mariinsky Theater.

Since 1997 Mikhail has been teaching at the Saint Petersburg Mussorgsky Musical College, and since 1999 - at the Saint Petersburg Rimsky-Korsakov State Conservatory. During his pedagogical career Mikhail has been honored with many state awards for his work. Mikhail Benedictov's students have repeatedly become international competitions winners.

Mikhail has been touring extensively as a soloist, chamber musician and accompanist throughout Russia and Europe. His appearances include performances in Germany, Switzerland, Great Britain, Netherlands, France, Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Izrael.
He has collaborated regularly with the notable Russian singer Eugenia Smoljaninova, the winner of "National Treasure of Russia" Award.
Mikhail Benedictov has also worked with conductors V.Gergiev, D. Kitajenko, B.Abaljan, M.Agrest, V.Begletsoff and others.
